  • Choose Advanced Search to limit your results by asset type, such as documentary film or newsreel. You can also check the box for Closed Captioning (to be ADA compliant and for Universal Design strategies).

  • Once you have located the video you would like to share with your class, select the </>Embed/Link button below the title of the video.
  • Then select the Copy button for Record URL to copy the URL to your clipboard.

  • Return to your Blackboard page, select Build Content and then select Web Link.

  • In the Name box, give your link a name (the video name or your own title for the activity)
  • In the URL box, use keyboard short cuts to paste the address from your clipboard (PC ctrl-V, MAC cmd-V)
  • In the Description box, use the text editor to provide information to your students on the video or the activity
  • In the Options, confirm that your Web Link is set to Open in a New Page.
  • Be sure your Web Link is set to Permit Users to View this Content
  • Suggested – Track Number of Views
  • Select Date and Time Restrictions if you choose to limit availability to the user.
  • Remember to Submit.

  • You should now see your link in your course.
  • Test your link – and if possible test your link from off campus to be sure it works.
