Instructors can use a Course Menu Link to create a shortcut to the Blackboard Collaborate List Page. From this page instructor and students can access available web conference sessions and recordings.

Set Edit Mode to ON to perform these functions.


Add Bb Collaborate Link


  • Select the Add button (+) on the Course Menu
  • Select Tool Link
  • Enter a Name for the Link, for example: Web Conferencing, Office Hours, or Bb Collab.
  • Select Blackboard Collaborate Scheduling Manager from the drop down menu
    • Important Note: Don’t see this option, you will need to make the tool available. See tutorial, Tool Availability.
  • Select the Available to Users check box to make this area available to users in the course
  • Select Submit
  • The new Link appears on the Course Menu

Note: See the tutorial, Organize Course Menu Items, to rearrange the location of menu items.


Rename the Link


  • Click on the Down arrow next to the tool link
  • Select Rename Link to rename the item
  • Select the Green Check Mark to Save or the Red X to Cancel

Delete the Link


  • Click on the Down arrow next to the tool link
  • Select Delete to remove the item
  • A confirmation pop-up message appears, to continue deletion select OK, to end deletion select Cancel

Hide the Link


  • Click on the Down arrow next to the tool link
  • Select Hide Link to make the link hidden from students

Show the Link


  • Click on the Down arrow next to the tool link
  • Select Show Link to make the link visible to students
