A Course Content Area is needed in order for you to layout and organize all your course materials. When you create a Content Area on the course menu you are creating a link to the first level of your course content structure. You may add several content areas to the course menu, such as one for Syllabus/Course Information, and one for Instructional Modules, etc.

Set Edit Mode to ON to perform these functions.

Add a Content Area

  • Select the Add icon (+) on the Course Menu
  • Select Content Area
  • Enter a Name for the Content Area
  • Select the Available to Users check box to make it visible to students
  • Select Submit
  • The new Content Area appears on the Course Menu
Important Note: the newly created Content Area will appear on the course menu with two icons next to it. The dotted square icon indicates that the content area contains no content. The square with a line through it icon indicates that the  content area is not visible to students. See below for showing the icon (making it visible to students)
