Forums are made up of individual discussion threads that can be organized around a particular subject. You want to Create Forums in order to organize discussions. Instructors will see all available/unavailable Forums while students will only see Forums that are available to them.

Create a Forum

  • Navigate to the Discussion Board Forum page
  • Select Create Forum
  • Forum Information
    • Enter a Name for the forum in the Name field
    • Enter a Description (instructions) for the forum in the Description field
  • Forum Availability
    • Available: Choose Yes to make available to students. Choose No to make unavailable to students
    • Enter Date and Time Restrictions: Choose the Display After date/time and/or the Display Until date/time
  • 3: Forum Settings
  • Select Submit
  • A green confirmation bar appears: “Success: Forum name of forum created.
