Tagging allows you to add metadata to posts making them easier to find in searches. You must select Allow Post Tagging when selecting forum settings.

Important Note: for faster Discussion Board page loading, turn tagging off.


Adding Tags to Posts


  • Select and enter a Discussion Board Forum
  • Select the check box(es) next to the Thread(s) you want to add tagging
    • To Select All Posts/Threads: select the upper most check box (located next to the red flag in the column header row)
  • Select Collect
  • To Add Tag:
    • Select the check box(es) next to the Post(s) you want to add a tag to
      • To Select all Posts: choose All next to Select: (located below the Tag Text field)
    • Enter a tag name in the Tag Text: field (ex. Van Gogh)
    • Select the Add button
  • Select OK to return to the Forum page and OK again to exit the Forum.

View Tags (Available Only from Forum List View)


  • Select and enter a Discussion Board Forum
  • Make sure the forum view is set to List View (see the tutorial on, List View and Tree View)
  • Select Tags and a drop down menu appears
  • Select either a tag or Show All Tags from the list
  • The Post with the selected tag results will display

Delete Tags (Available Only from Forum List View)


  • Select and enter a Discussion Board Forum
  • From the Tags column, select the title of the Tag you want to delete (ex. Van Gogh)
  • Select the red X icon located next to the tag you want to delete (usually located below a post)
  • A confirmation pop-up message appears, to continue deletion select OK, to end deletion select Cancel
  • Repeat steps to delete the tags from subsequent threads/posts. Once all instances of the tag are deleted the tag itself is removed from the Tags list.
