A Module Page displays content modules. Content Module are windows that display related data and/or links to other content within a Course or the Blackboard system. For example you could have a course entry page be a module page. This page could display several content modules such as, Course Announcements, What’s New, Tasks, etc.  Equivalent to a Dashboard.

Notifications help feed information to the module page, learn more about Blackboard Notifications.

Set Edit Mode to ON to perform these functions.


Create a Module Page


  • From Build Content
  • Select Module Page
  • Module Page Information
    • Enter a Name in the Name field
    • Enter content/information in the Description field
  • Page Type
    • Permit Users to Personalize the Page
      • Check this box to allow users to personalize the page.
      • Uncheck this box to not allow users to change the page, you control the page content.
  • Standard Options
    • Make the Content Available: Choose Yes to make the item available to students. Choose No to make the item unavailable to students
    • Track Number of Views: Choose Yes to record the number of times the item is viewed, when it is viewed and by whom
    • Select Date and Time Restrictions (Optional): Choose the Display After date/time and/or the Display Until date/time
  • Select Submit
  • A green confirmation bar appears: “Success: name of page created.

Edit a Module Page


  • Select the Down arrow next to the module page title you want to edit
  • Select Edit
  • Module Page Information
    • Make changes to the Name field
    • Make changes to the Description field
  • Page Type
    • Permit Users to Personalize the Page:
      • Check this box to allow users to personalize the page.
      • Uncheck this box to not allow users to change the page, you control the page content.
  • Standard Options
    • Make any changes to the page Availability, Track Number of Views, Display After date/time, and/or Display Until date/time
  • Select Submit
  • A green confirmation bar appears: “Success: name of page edited.

Delete a Module Page


This action is irreversible.

  • Select the Down arrow next to the module page title you want to delete
  • Select Delete
  • A confirmation pop-up message appears, to continue deletion select OK, to end deletion select Cancel
  • A green confirmation bar appears: “Success: Module(s) deleted.
