You can attach files or whole folders from the Content Collection to content types within your course such as Items, Files, Blank Pages, etc. Any time you see the option to Browse Course you can navigate to files/folders you have added to the Content Collection of your course or your other courses.

IMPORTANT: You DO NOT want to attach files/folders from courses that are dated (courses you teach from) because those courses are removed from the system after a year and 30 days, therefore any files/folders you attached will be gone. You CAN create a repository course by using a Z area (development course) that stays on the system all the time  You can load files/folders in to the courses Content Collection and then attach to the file(s)/folder(s).
